研究概要

母子間の結びつきは、ほ乳類の子どもにとって最も早くかつ重大な社会的関係である。今回のプロジェクトで、乳幼児が母親に運ばれる時に示す輸送反応を明らかにできた。6か月以下の乳幼児は、母親に運ばれている時に即座に大人しくなり、泣きやみ、心拍数の低下が顕著であった。マウスの子でも同様である。マウスの子に薬理学的、遺伝学的な阻害してＴＲ反応が失われると母親が子供を救出するのを阻害する。これはＴＲ反応がいかに機能的に重要かを指し示す。この研究によって初めて、ＴＲ反応は中枢、身体運動、心機能の総合的な調節を含み、これらはほ乳類の母子間相互関係において保存されていることが示された。
