研究成果の概要

正標数の代数多様体上のl進層に対し、Beilinson氏が余接束上に定義した特異台にMilnor公式を用いて係数を定めて特性サイクルを定義した。さらに特性サイクルを使って層のオイラー数を表す指数公式を証明した。また、特性サイクルの固有射による順像との両立性を調べ、特性サイクルの公理的な特徴づけを得た。谷田川氏と共同で、特性サイクルがlによらないことも示した。
また、整数環が相対完全交叉であるという仮定のもとで一般の付値環についても分岐群のフィルトレーションを構成した。

研究成果の学術的意義や社会的意義

幾何学の対象の局所的に定義される不変量から大域的な不変量の性質を導くことは，幾何学の基本的な問題であり，その典型的なものとして指数公式がある．代数解析学では，偏微分方程式の局所的な性質を表すものとしてその特性サイクルが余接束上に構成され，これについても指数公式が知られている．本研究で得られた成果は，この特性サイクルの構成を代数的に行うものであり，エタール・コホモロジーの理論の基本的な定理となるものである．さらに整数論的な方向への発展も期待される．
