研究概要

本年度は3年度最後の年であり成果の縲めに注力した。先づ、f電子系のバンド理論に関しては、相対論的スピン軌道相互作用を含んだ全対称的な自己無矛盾な精密なバンド計算が可能となり、更にfバンドをスプリットさせた型のバンド計算の発展と合わせてドハ-スの実験との精密な対応が可能となった。この結果、4f電子系の価数揺動状態に於ては4fバンド理論は極めて良く成立し、4fバンドの質量増強は3〜5倍であること、一方近藤状態に於ては、4fバンドは全くフェルミ準位上になくスプリット4ーfーバンド模型がこれ又良く当て嵌り、伝導電子の質量増強は100倍以上に達することが分かった。この両域がどの様に結ばれて居るかが今後の最重要課題として浮上して来た。その他バンド理論を利用した種々の物性の計算も行なわれた(酒井、柳瀬、長谷川(協力)、久保、播磨)。
不純物近藤状態はfー電子系の異常の原点であり、簡単な系の静的物理量については厳密解も存在するが、より複雑な現実の系に関する動的物理量も含めた総合的研究への拡張が行なわれ、更に近藤状態と磁気相互作用の競合系としての原点となる2不純物近藤系への拡張も行なわれ多くの重要な成果を収めた。格子系への拡張が今後の主要目標となる(酒井、佐宗、竹ケ原)。
近藤格子系の理論は既に多くの試みがあるが、何れも何等かの意味での分子場理論の域を出て居らず、その妥当性には例えば上述のフェルミ面の問題に関しても充分なものではない。この拡張、発展に関しても多くの試みがなされた。特に低次元系での厳密な扱い、或いは近藤状態と磁性との共存相克の問題で多くの重要な進展があった(倉本、黒田、興地、川上、前川)。
