研究概要

本総合研究は、重点領域研究「高温超伝導の科学」を開始するに当たって、必要な準備・調査・企画の詰めを行なうことが目的である。このため、まず計画研究の分担予定者の間で精密な連絡網を確立するとともに、総括班員予定者が中心になって、(1)高温超伝導の理論、(2)高温超伝導体の合成プロセスと新物質探索、(3)高温超伝導体の電子物性、(4)高温超伝導体の超伝導特性、(5)高温超伝導体における電子機能の発現と探索、の5つの主要研究項目のそれぞれについて、現状を詳しく点検し、また、今後の具体的重点課題の選定に関して掘り下げた討論を行なった。その結果、研究の飛躍的進展を図るには、まず何よりも、信頼できる実験デ-タを得るため良質の単結晶試料の供給体制を確立することが緊急課題であることが確認され、これを重点領域研究の初年度の重点項目とした。次年度以降についても、総括班として最重点項目を設定することになり、その候補を拾い上げた。しかし、研究の進展状況を見ながら対処できる柔軟性の確保も必要であるとして最終的決定は避けた。また、組織としての効果的な研究促進のために、ニュ-スレタ-を発行して情報のスム-ズな交換を図ることになり、担当を決めた。
上記の重点領域研究の組織・計画に関する準備作業のほかに、実際にこのプロジェクトに参加予定者が、5つの主要項目に沿った個別研究テ-マの予備的推進にも力を入れた。その結果は、学会誌や国際会議等で300件以上にのぼる多くの論文となって発表されたが、本研究実績報告書の11にリストアップしたのは、その中から主なものとして数を限って拾い上げた極く少数の論文である。
