研究概要	◆精子運動開始機構に関して:シロサケ精子より得た1,000kDaタンパク質のモノクローン抗体の作成を行い、64種の内14種の精子除膜精子運動を阻害する抗体を得たが、その内の阻害活性の強い3種は、精子運動開始タンパク質のリン酸化を制御すること、及び、蛍光抗体法により鞭毛基部に抗原が存在することが明らかとなった。即ち“精子運動調節部位が鞭毛基部に存在する"という新しい発見がなされた。このことは抗体存在下でcAMPをイオントフォレシス法で鞭毛鞭毛基部に作用させ、確かめられた。また海産魚では、細胞内pHの上昇、細胞内イオン強度の増加が運動開始の引金を引くことが明らかとなった。また、タンパク質の脱リン酸化が運動開始を引き起こすこと、逆に、リン酸化が運動開始を抑制することが示唆された。◆精子運動活性化に関して:ニシン卵由来物質の精製が完了し、エドマン法を用いて約30残基のアミノ酸配列が決定された。また、質量分析法により真に純粋な物質であることが明らかとなった。遺伝子のクローニングが行われ、全アミノ酸配列が決定され“精子運動活性化物質はトリプシンインヒビターである"という新しい発見がなされた。◆精子走化性物質に関して:ユウレイボヤで精製が進み、ほぼ純粋な物質が得られつつある。また、ホヤ精子走化性にはCa^<2+>が重要な役割果たしていることが明らかとなった。◆精子運動獲得機構に関して:海洋研究船「淡青丸」に乗船し、太平洋を回遊中のシロサケを捕獲し卵巣及び精子の成熟度について調べた。その結果、海に回遊中でも海岸回遊中のサケと同様、精子は形態的に成熟していること、また、運動能は未獲得であることが明らかとなった。
