研究概要

本研究では、長期的、継世代的に生物系全体に悪影響を与える環境中の微量毒性物質の評価と低減手法を創生することを目標とし、以下のような研究を行った。
(1)実験動物を使用しない新しい毒性試験方法として、ヒト細胞を用いた免疫毒性などの評価方法を開発し、環境化学物質の有害性を評価した。
(2)都市ごみ、下水処理汚泥、屎尿処理汚泥などの焼却施設の排ガスからの変異原性物質とその原因物質の発生状態を把握し、管理手法を明らかにした。
(3)廃棄物およびその燃焼排ガス等の中のダイオキシン類のマテリアルフローを明らかにし、また、4つの対策による効果を予測し、環境負荷を最少にする適切な対策を提示した。
(4)有機スズ化合物や有機塩素化合物などの残留性有機物質の地球規模での分布とゆくえ、哺乳類や鳥類などの野生生物の汚染実態、生物濃縮とその影響などを解析した。
(5)多数の工業薬品や農薬などの毒性をもつ化学品の国内外での管理制度を比較、評価するとともに、実用的な新しい自主管理手法を開発した。
