研究概要	セリン/トレオニンホスファターゼ(PP)の研究では、武田がヒト赤血球PP2Aの74kDa調節サブユニットB"のcDNAをクローン化した。B"はB'サブユニットと分子中央の400アミノ酸残基配列に相同性が高くB'ファミリーを形成し、第3のサブユニットとしてPP2Aの活性、細胞内局在を制御すると推定した。菊池は腹水肝癌細胞でPP1αの転写が亢進する機構を解明するため、PP1α遺伝子を単離し、その転写機構を解析した。久野はPP2Bが記憶のモデル系である長期増強現象を抑制的に制御することを明らかにした。田村はPP2Cβ遺伝子の構造解析とRT-PCRによる転写産物の解析を行った。アルツハイマー病脳の神経原線維変化には燐酸化タウ蛋白質が著名に蓄積する。燐酸化部位はC末端側にプロリンを持つ特徴がある。宮本はこの燐酸化タウ蛋白質を脱燐酸化するPPを同定した。藤木はPP阻害剤であるオカダ酸がマウス皮膚でTNF-αmRNAの発現を誘導し、発癌プロモーション活性を示し、一方、PP阻害剤であるトウトマイシンではこれらの活性が見られないことを示した。チロシンホスファターゼ(PTP)の研究では、春日がSH2ドメインを有するPTP、SAP-2の基質蛋白質、SHPS-1(pp120)の遺伝子をクローン化した。渡邊は、受容体型PTPβ2の全長cDNAをクローン化し、人為的に発現させたPTPβ2がMEL細胞の赤血球分化を誘導することを示した。矢倉は、未熟B細胞のCD45がLynを不活化する機構を解析し、LynのC末の負野制御部位Tyrと自己燐酸化部位Tyrを脱燐酸化することを明らかにした。日野田はHPTPδの細胞外ドメインのトランスフェクトーマを免疫原として抗体の作製に成功した。
