研究概要	昨年度以来高性能化をはかりつつある近接場磁気光学顕微鏡については、光ファイバープローブの偏光伝搬特性をStokesパラメータに用いて評価し、波長板として動作することを確認した。これより、適切な光学的補償を行うことによってPt/CoのMOディスクに記録された記録パターンのクリアな磁気光学イメージを得ることに成功した。非線形磁気光学については、モードロックTi-sapphireレーザを用いた測定システムを完成、非整数原子層を有するFe/Au人工格子において、23度におよぶ大きな非線形磁気光学カー回転角を見いだした。(佐藤) STMを用いたAu(001)面上でFe超薄膜の仕事関数測定を行い、元素のナノスケールのマッピングに成功した。また強磁性探針を用いたFe(001)面のトンネル分光を行いスピン偏極したSurface Stateを検出した。Co/Cu人工格子膜形成過程の分子動力学シミュレーションを行い、界面付近のナノスケールの構造が基板配向、成膜条件により大きく変わることを見出した。(伊藤) 局所スピン密度近似の範囲での電子状態計算の結果を用い、Kubo公式に基づき光学伝導度を計算し、磁気光学カー効果を求める計算手法を開発した。この手法を、まずBCC鉄に応用し計算の精度や収束性を評価した。また、Fe/Pt、Fe/Au等の磁性金属多層膜系にも応用し、実験結果との比較を行うとともに、カースペクトルの電子論的な起源に関して議論を進めた。(小口) CoPt規則合金薄膜の結晶構造,磁気異方性および磁気光学効果について調べた。MgO(111)基板上に300℃でMBE成長させたCo50Pt50膜は、CuPt型規則構造となって膜面垂直方向に非常に大きな磁気異方性を示した。また,不規則相とは異なるKerrスペクトルを示した。光磁気記録において光ビームが非常に小さくなった場合にも熱磁気記録が可能かどうかの計算機シミュレーションを行った。その結果,遷移金属リッチのTbFeCo膜に0.1mW,10μsecの光パルスで0.05μm径の記録磁区を書き込むことができた。(綱島) スピン偏極-STMの開発については、MgO基板上のFe薄膜を作製したモノステップのある平らな結晶が得られ、スピン偏極が測定出来る環境が整った。交換力顕微鏡(EFM)については第一原理計算がほぼ終了し、non-contact AFM等での実験に入った。(武笠) グラニュラー磁性薄膜、ナノ結晶磁性材料、人工多層膜の構造を高分解能電子顕微鏡、アトムプローブ、小角散乱法などをもちいて原子レベルで解析し、磁気特性と構造の因果関係、磁気特性発現のメカニズムを検討した。(宝野)
