研究概要	〈研究成果概要〉この3年間で平面曲線のモジュラスの研究とザリスキー対の研究に新しい研究手段が得られた。その一つの方法は岡による双対曲線の研究と変曲点被覆の理論である。岡はこれらの手段を使って、様々な新しい成果を得た。無限遠で既約枝を1つ持つ滑らかな平面曲線をTchirnhausen変換を使って、任意の種数で分類可能な事を示し、またAbhyankar-Mohの定理の新しい証明を与えた。ザリスキー対の研究に関してもZarisuki3対を初めて12次の曲線で27このカスプを持つもののクラスで与えたことなど。また特殊な6次曲線で楕円曲線となるクラスを研究して、これらが数論的な著しい性質を合わせ持つことを示した。これは将来に更に研究を続けるテーマの一つとなるだろう。徳永はE.Artalとの共同研究を通じて、非可換な有限被覆の研究を押し進め著しい成果を得た。島田は代数幾何学的手法で6次曲線の研究に素晴らしい成果を得た。この二人の方法を採り入れて更に突っ込んだ研究が待たれる。諏訪立雄、與倉昭治は特異点のある多様体の上の特性類の研究を押し進め優れた成果を得ている。諏訪はフランスやメキシコの共同研究者と多岐的な研究をすすめている。佐伯は特異点をノットの視点から研究して、その分類理論や、4次元のトポロジーへの応用に著しい成果をあげた。詳しい成果は各分担者の成果報告を見られたい。
