研究概要

本研究グループが同定したTAK1キナーゼが、上皮組織で活性酸素種の制御に必須の働きをしていることを明らかにした。TAK1を阻害することによって、活性酸素種の産生が亢進している癌組織特異的に細胞死を誘導し、癌の退縮を引き起こすことを見いだした。この成果は、TAK1キナーゼが正常組織に対して影響の少ない癌特異的な新たな治療のターゲットとなる可能性を示唆する。
