研究実績の概要 |
An instrument has been defined and developed to measure pure-tone frequency discrimination (FD) of beginner Japanese learners of French with audiometric equipment. The development of an instrument for output measuring has been delayed due a change in procedure of the use of an online spectrometer originally accessed through the Computer Assisted Language Laboratory (CALL) and which we have know decided to transfer to smartphone interface. The change in procedure is due to the unforeseen dismantling of the CALL systems at the University of Tsukuba for 'earthquake consolidation construction' of the building holding the CALL rooms. Our partner Archean Technologies is currently adapting and calibrating the online spectrometer to smartphone technology. For these reasons we have decided to postpone the experimentation phase one year.

理由
The University of Tsukuba has scheduled 'earthquake consolidation construction' from July 2019 through March 2020 in the building holding the computer CALL system where the research was supposed to be carried out this year. No computer CALL installations will be available through that time. We have decided to postpone the experimentation stage one year to adapt to these unplanned circumstances.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
The research plan needs to be modified, as initial infrastructure is not readily available anymore. Stage 1 (preparation) is prolonged one year to March 2020. Stage 2 (experimental) will start April 2020, one year behind schedule. During the prolonged preparation stage, we will technically re-calibrate the tools to conduct the experimental stage through smartphone technology instead of lap-top technology. Results of this experiment will thus be presented at conferences current 2020.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Stage 1 (preparation) has been delayed to this fiscal year. Fiscal year 2018 costs are slated to this fiscal year 2019.
