For the final year of the project, we finalized some of the experimental designs created previously and investigated new ideas for future collaborations with the French side. Our work focused on three aspects: - In vitro implementation, in collaboration with Profs. Jean-Christophe Galas and Andre Estevez-Torres. This work involved using Chemical Reaction Networks (CRNs), designed with their collaboration, to control the dynamic aggregation of a swarm of DNA droplets. - Design of a molecular swarm based on microtubules controlled by CRNs present on the surface of microbeads. We implemented a simulation of the system performing cargo sorting, a typical task in swarm robotics, and made progress on the in vitro implementation of the system - Theoretical work on the behavior of swarms using molecular controllers. That approach led to the development of an algorithm that let the swarm determine the shape of its environment. The algorithm was implemented successfully on a robotic swarm. Our results were submitted to top international journals and conferences. Discussions with our partners led to the submission of further grant proposals on both sides.
