波面のカスプ的嘴、カスプ的唇、カスプ的蝶、臍特異点の判定法をすべて与えた。また、モンド特異点・高次元波面の基本的な特異点に対して具体的に計算できる判定法を与えた。これらを応用し、疑球面内の曲面と球面内の曲面の双対性の枠組みの中で様々な特異点があらわれる条件と、曲面の微分幾何学的性質との関係について明らかにした。また、波面の概念を内在的に定式化し、同じ次元間の写像と波面を同時に扱い、様々な写像の位相的性質と特異点の数との関係を明らかにした。
