研究概要

外傷での死者は世界中で毎年520万人と推計され、その91%を占める発展途上国(以下途上国)では、特に交通外傷が急速なモータリゼーションに伴い増加している。外傷の予防・治療改善には、外傷サーベイランス(以下IS)システムを構築し、死傷者データを収集することが必要である。ISデータを用いた分析から、予防施策を立案、実施し、その効果についての評価も経時的に収集されるISデータにより行うことができる。世界保健機関(WHO)は、各国で病院ベースのISシステム構築を推進しようとしているが、資源の限られた途上国で各国独自のシステムを構築するのは容易ではない。そこで、途上国でも普及しつつあるインターネットでネットワークを形成し、単一のデータ収集システムを共有することで、途上国におけるISシステムを低コストで立ち上げ、データの標準化と分析能力向上により外傷治療の改善に資することができると考えた。
