現在のところ有効利用されていない低品位炭と廃バイオマスに関して、水熱処理と物理選別を主要技術とした包括的な有効利用法について検討した。その結果、バイオコールエコ燃料製造のみならず、改質液、ガス産物の有効利用と温室効果ガス削減の可能性について、また、燃焼後のフライアッシュ中に存在する高強度中空球形セラミックスの製造、回収方法について有用な知見を得た。
