研究概要

数論と代数幾何学の交錯する豊かな理論が期待されている分野として,遠アーベル幾何学を推進し,とりわけ代数曲線とそのモジュライ空間から生じる数論的基本群の系列がなすガロア・タイヒミュラー被覆塔について国際研究交流を推進した．特に２０１０年の１０月に京都大学数理解析研究所で第３回日本数学会季期研究所を開催し,その研究成果を論文集「Galois-Teichmueller theory and Arithmetic Geometry」として出版した．また無限遠を除いた楕円曲線の数論的基本群から生じるモノドロミー表現について研究を進め論文発表を行った．
