衛星観測海面塩分データの精度評価・誤差特性の解明と全球水循環研究への応用

研究概要

本研究では，史上初めて行われた本格的な塩分観測衛星ミッションであるAquariusの観測データを解析し，海面塩分の観測精度の評価と誤差の特性を調べることを目的とした．衛星観測海面塩分データを，係留ブイ，アルゴフロート，海洋データ同化モデル出力などと比較した．その結果，現在の最新版のデータを用いれば，水温 5度以上，風速 15 m/s 以下の条件で，単一の観測で，残差の標準偏差が 0.41 psu 程度，150 km かつ１ヶ月平均で 0.26 psu 程度と，目標観測精度（150 km, １ヶ月平均で誤差 0.2 psu）に確実に近づいていることが明らかになった．
