研究概要

アルツハイマー病（AD）の 防御因子ヒューマニン（HN）の研究を押し進め、１）EHは脳脊髄液中に1-5nMの濃度で存在すること，さらに、2）EHはAD類似の認知症動物モデルで有効であることを示した。これらの結果は、EHが内在性の抗AD因子としてHNより中心的な役割を果たしていることを示唆する。さらに、４）ADでは脳脊髄液中のEH濃度が減少する傾向にあることを見いだし、EHの挙動がAD発症の一要因となっている可能性があると推論した。また、５）EH阻害分子EHIbetaは細胞内でEHの分泌を抑制し、EHIsigmaは細胞外に分泌されEHと結合してEH 阻害因子として機能することを見いだした。
