研究概要	情動行動発現の神経機構と生理活性物質との関連を解析した。大村は摂食時脳内に増加する酸性線維芽細胞成長因子(aFGF)が化学感受性ニュ-ロンを介して満腹感形成に関与していること、同物質が学習や脳虚血時のニュ-ロン修復などの生理作用を有していることを明らかにした。 aFGFについて矢内原は合成aFGF(1-5)及びaFGF(114-140)を用い、そのN末端及びC末端を特異認識する2種類の抗体を作製し機能解析を可能にした。また木村は免疫組織化学を用い同因子の脳内分布を明らかにした。小野はサルの海馬ニュ-ロン活動の解析から、海馬が情動を含めた事象構成要素間連合の形成、維特及びそれに基づく学習や記憶形成に重要な役割を果たしていることを明らかにした。川村は視床下部腹内側核(VMH)破壊後の過食ラットの脳内に胎生VMHを移植し、過食の減少とグルコ-ス受容ニュ-ロンの存在を確認した。小野田はモノクロ-ナル抗体を用いて、嗅細胞の再生時の染色パタ-ンを調べ、それらが同細胞の発生分化過程の再演であることを確かめた。生理活性物質の作用機序について、堀は体温調節行動に関与する視床下部温度ニュ-ロンのアンギオテンシン及び免疫サイトカイン反応性を解析した。また山下は脳スライス標本を用い、脳性ナトリウム利尿ペプチドとエンドセリンに対する視床下部神経細胞の感受性を調べた。新島はIL-1βの門脈内投与がラット迷走神経肝臓枝の求心性活動を促進することを観察した。中川は視交又上核がグルカゴン分泌を介して蛋白摂取を促進し、脚傍核のCCK含有神経はVMHを介し糖質摂取を抑制することを明らかにした。坂田は高温環境時の適応行動や体温維持機構に視床下部ヒスタミンが関与していることを示した。酒井は摂食調節物質に関して、メソ化合物の酵素不斉加水分解を鍵反応とする光学活性3-DPAの立体選択的合成に成功した。
