二核遷移金属錯体の設計・開発による低分子の活性化状態および磁気的相互作用の研究

研究概要

(1)二核鉄錯体:Semi-methemerythrinやPink uteroferrinなどの鉄タンパクには、二核鉄(II、III)混合原子価中心が含まれることが知られている。我々は、左右等価な構造をもつ二種の二核化配位子、2,6-bis〔bis(2-pyridylmethyl or 2-benzimidazolylmethyl)aminomethy1〕-4-methylphenol、とカルボン酸イオンとを含む二核鉄(II、II),(II、III)、および(III、III)錯体の合成に成功した。それら錯体の電子、ESR、メスバウア-スペクトルおよび磁化率の測定結果から、(ア)鉄(II、III)錯体が他の(II、II)および(III、III)錯体に比べて安定化している、(イ)鉄(II、III)錯体はclassIIの混合原子価錯体である、(ウ)鉄(II、III)錯体の鉄イオン間には弱い反強磁性相互作用が働いていることなどが判明した。
(2)二核および四核マンガン錯体:光合成系IIの水の酸化反応(2H_2O→O_2+4H^++4e^-)には二核あるいは四核マンガンクラスタ-が関与している。我々は、二核化配位子として2,6-bis〔bis(2-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl〕-4-methylphenolおよびtris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine(N_4-py)を含む二核マンガン(II、II)、(II、III)、(III、IV)、(IV、IV)錯体、およびN、N、N'、N'-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,3-diamino-2-propanolを含む四核マンガン(II、III、III、II)錯体の合成・構造解明に成功した。これらの錯体の中で、N_4-py錯体は水の酸化触媒特性を示す兆しをみせたが、確証を得るには至らなかった。今後の発展が期待される。
(3)酸素分子と可逆的に反応する二核コバルト(II、II)錯体の単離に成功した。直線状シアン化物イオンを含む二核クロム(III、III)錯体では、クロムイオン間に弱い反強磁性相互作用がみとめられた。
