Outline of Final Research Achievements

This grant was utilized to manage the interdisciplinary project called "Co-creative Language Evolution." The project focused on the origins and evolution of linguistic communication from an interdisciplinary perspective. It involved a large-scale organization consisting of five planning teams with 29 researchers and 64 recruited teams. Around 300 individuals, including evaluators, students, and collaborators, participated in this project. More than 600 reviewed original research papers in English were published, and a total of 10 project conferences, 9 young researchers' conferences, and 17 public seminars were conducted. As a culmination of the project, an international joint conference was held in Kanazawa, attracting approximately 450 participants. These activities successfully stimulated international research on language evolution and co-creative communication.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

総括班は新学術領域「共創言語進化」の運営を担当した。結果として、約３００名の研究者を糾合し、約６００本の英文原著論文をまとめ、１０回の領域会議、１７回の公開セミナーを開催した。また、領域の最終年度には金沢にて国際会議を開催し、約４５０名の参加者を集めた。領域から約６０名の若手研究者が研究職に就いた。さらに、約１２０件のアウトリーチ活動、約１００件のメディア報道、約２０冊の一般向け書籍の出版を支援した。総括班は、これらの活動すべてを支援した。以上から、総括班の活動は高い学術的意義・社会的意義を持ったと言える。
