Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本計画研究は重力波の観測データを用いて、これまでにない一般相対論のテストをおこなうことを大きな目標に掲げている。一般相対論は現代の宇宙モデルの基礎をなす理論であるが、ブラックホールや中性子星といった強い重力場での検証は重力波の観測によりはじめて可能となった。我々は、重力波観測の実データを用い、多様な重力理論の検証を、各々のモデルに特化した波形予測と解析コードを開発を実行してきた。多数の連星ブラックホール合体重力波を解析した結果、すべての解析において一般相対論と無矛盾であることを示すとともに、上限値を与えてきた。
エコー信号の解析を以前に行ったが、新しいデータを加え再解析を行った。連星ブラックホール合体後に形成される天体がブラックホールと異なる場合、合体後に重力波エコー信号が生じる可能性がある。二種類のモデル波形を用い、第三観測期間で観測された連星ブラックホール合体イベントのデータを用いて重力波エコー信号の探索を行なったが、どちらのモデルにおいても有意な信号の不在を明らかにした。一方のモデルは物理的には不自然なものだが以前のデータで有意な信号の存在を示した。新たな解析により信号の有意性は格段に小さくなった。
今後予定される重力波観測を想定し、リングダウン重力波からブラックホールの情報をどの程度の精度で得られるか、および、準固有振動の安定性について調べた。また、ブラックホール準固有振動の基音・複数の倍音を正規直交化することによる解析方法を提案し、リングダウン波形をブラックホール準固有振動の重ね合わせで表すモデル化の適用限界を調べる解析を進めている。平行して、実際のデータから準固有振動を様々な手法を抜き出した際に、その結果がどの程度一致するのかという研究も進行している。また、ブラックホール周りに形成されるアキシオン雲からの重力波に関する研究を多岐にわたり進めた。
