Outline of Annual Research Achievements

多成分状態図の中央近傍の化学組成を持つハイエントロピー合金は、高温でのエントロピー効果や多種類に及ぶ各元素間の引力/斥力相互作用、遅い原子拡散、大きな格子ひずみといった特徴が複雑に作用して、凝固時及びその後の加工・熱処理中に、従来金属・合金とは大きく異なる特徴的なミクロ組織形成を生じる。本計画研究は、凝固・鋳造、加工熱処理、粉末冶金、3Dプリンティングという、4種類の重要プロセスを通じてハイエントロピー合金のナノ・ミクロ組織やマクロ形態の制御を行い、ハイエントロピー合金特有の組織形成過程と機構を明らかにするとともに、ナノ・ミクロ組織と種々の特性の相関関係を明らかにして、望ましい特性の合金を作製するためのプロセス指針を獲得することを目的とした。
京大・辻、京大・安田、立命大・飴山、東北大・千葉が、それぞれ加工・熱処理、凝固・鋳造、粉末冶金、3Dプリンティングの各プロセスを担当し、各研究室の研究協力者、ポスドク、大学院生とともに、研究室間の緊密な連携を取りつつ研究を推進した。また新学術領域内の他班・公募班研究者との連携研究も積極的に実施した。領域内の参画者に必要な共通試料やデータを提供することによって、ハイエントロピー合金に関する新学術の創成に寄与するとともに、ハイエントロピー合金の実用化を見通した基礎的知見の蓄積を行なった。FCC単相構造を有するハイエントロピー合金の先端プロセッシングを通じた組織制御・特性解明に関する研究をさらに深化・発展させるとともに、高温材料として期待される高融点BCCハイエントロピー合金の研究を展開し、当初予定していた研究計画を遂行して多数の興味深い成果を得ることができた。新しい概念の合金であるハイエントロピー合金に対し、種々の金属プロセッシングを適用する際の技術的ノウハウや、組織形成機構及び力学特性に関する基礎的データを系統的に獲得することができた。
