Research Abstract |
In this research project, we revealed the followings on GGAs and its related Tom1 family proteins. (1)We found that ARFs bind to the N-GAT subdomain of the GAT domain of GGAs. (2)By X-ray crystallography, we revealed the three-dimensional structure of the GGA3-GAT domain in complex with ARF. (3)We found that ubiquitin bind to the C-GAT subdomain of the GAT domain of GGAs and Tom1 family proteins. (4)By X-ray crystallography, we revealed the three-dimensional structure of the GGA3-GAT domain and that of the Tom1-GAT domain in complex with ubiquitin. (5)We found that Tollip (Toll-interacting protein) interacts with the GAT domain of the Tom1 family proteins. (6)We revealed that Tollip recruits Tom1 family proteins and ubiquitinated proteins onto endosomes.
