Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
My research over the past two years has progressed in accordance with the initial timeline defined in my grant application. The first goal was to investigate the association between stress coping strategies and disease. This has been accomplished and resulted in two publications of which one was considered Editors’Choice. The results of the second article were highlighted by NHK News. The second goal was to investigate if genetic susceptibility to coronary heart disease modified the effect of stress on cardiovascular disease. The results of this study were presented at the prestigious ESC Congress in Rome, and the manuscript has been accepted for publication in PLOS ONE. I have also managed additional publications outside the current grant proposal (for details, please see below).
