Research Abstract |
There is a gap between the vocabulary size required for a sufficient score on the reading comprehension test and the vocabulary level required for 95% coverage of the text. It was found in order to acquire an adequate score, a vocabulary of 5000 words are needed. Similarly for TOEFL, a vocabulary of 5000 words covers 95% of the text, but in order to obtain an adequate score a vocabulary of 6500 words are needed.
