Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This study aims to linkage curriculum and practice in citizenship formation to improve the citizenship education of Peruvians and Nikkei Peruvians in Peru. I apply Japanese school activities in Peruvian schools to be evaluated in the long run method to observe an efficient result. First, I presented the issues of the "Nikkei family in Japan," the issues of "citizenship in Peru," and the project "OSOJI-JAPAN "in three oral presentations. The first one was in the Japanese Academic Association (AJH), the second one was in The Japan Society for International Development (JASID), and the third presentation was in a Peruvian Institution. As a result, first, the submitted book of one chapter regarding the Nikkei Peruvian education problem in 2020 was accepted to be published in June 2021 by a SPRINGER publisher. Then, one article regarding Nikkei Peruvian family was published in the Journal Inquiry and Research published by Kansai Gaidai University in September 2020. Finally, I had research meetings with Nagoya University professors to discuss the project "OSOJI-JAPAN," second with teachers and principal of Peruvian schools (ONLINE). Then, I had to cancel the fieldwork in Peru because of COVID-19, I could not travel to Peru to implement the project. Therefore, I changed a little bit the site research, and it had to applicate at Peruvian schools but, it changed to the Peruvian community.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
As part of the research plan; I had research meetings at different educational institutions and oral presentations (ONLINE), but the fieldwork at Peruvian schools must be canceled because of the "Emergency Declaration" to prevent the COVID-19 infection. The fieldwork in Peru has been canceled since March 2020 because of COVID-19; I could not travel to Peru to implement the project. Therefore, I changed a little bit site research design; it had to applicate at Peruvian schools but, it was changed to the Peruvian community. Peruvian schools continue to close now in 2021; all the classes have done online since the emergency of COVID-19 was open in 2020. Therefore, the application of the project at schools is impossible. Then, after some research meetings with teachers and principals of Peruvian schools, I decided to change the site research from schools to the local community since 2021. It means that the project has been implemented from the houses of the school community members. Based on the above, I judged that " A slight delay than the original research plan ".

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I changed a little bit the site research, and it had to applicate at Peruvian schools but, it was changed to the Peruvian community. After research meetings with teachers and principals, the research site where the project has to be implemented changed from schools to the place (houses) where the students live. As a result, after finishing the project called "OSOJI-JAPAN," I will finish answering the questions; "What are the main activities that Japanese citizens learn from their school and through the society that contributes to becoming an organized citizen?" and "How do Japanese school activities in Peruvian schools applicate to build an educative bridge between Japan and Peru soon?". Therefore, I contacted Peruvian Educative Institutions to disseminate the research project in the local community where the students live. The implementation of the project "OSOJI-JAPAN" have started in Peru in 2021. After implementing the project, I will present the results at academic conferences, Peruvian schools' community, and finally, I will disseminate the results through academic journals.

Causes of Carryover |
In the fiscal year 2020, I was planning to make a research trip to Latin American countries for oral presentations and field works at Peru in Peruvian schools to answer one of the questions of the research project "How do Japanese school activities in Peruvian schools applicate to build an educative bridge between Japan and Peru in the near future?". However, the "Emergency Declaration" to prevent the new coronavirus has continued since March 2020. Accordingly, I presented the issues of the "Nikkei family in Japan," the issues of "citizenship in Peru," and the project "OSOJI-JAPAN "in three oral presentations by ONLINE. As well as writing some research papers. The project "OSOJI-JAPAN "consists of cleaning, recycling, and doing volunteer jobs at their local community. These activities pursue the following goals; to improve Peruvian citizenship education, help Nikkei Peruvians be involved in some Japanese custom that will benefit them in Japan, and reduce the budget of education in Peru.
