Outline of Final Research Achievements

The final outcome of this project includes contributions to the special issue on the history of emotions in Gendai shiso (December 2023 issue). Researchers from various academic fields have contributed to this special issue, with Onodera and Morita appearing in the lead dialogue, reflecting on the development of the history of emotions and specifically presenting future challenges and possibilities. Additionally, this special issue features articles by Ito and Hirata. Both papers critically reassess the assumptions inherent in various terms used in emotion history research and highlight the necessity for researchers to reflect on their own positionality. This contributes to a deeper understanding of the methodology in the study of the history of emotions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

主に上記のような成果により感情史研究を前進させることができた。歴史学の中でも感情史においては、とりわけ研究者の当事者性（立場性）が問われることが多い、すなわち現代社会の諸問題へのコミットメントや研究課題のアクチュアリティについて考えさせられることが多いと言える。この点についても、各研究成果を通して、問題の所在を確認し、今後の課題について言語化できたことは、感情史のさらなる学際的発展のために有益だったと考える。
