| Research Abstract |
Sertraline, an antidepressant belonging to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI), inhibits GTPase activity of dynamin which plays an important role in membrane fission on endocytosis. It was revealed that sertraline is a mixed-type inhibitor of the GTPase activity with respect to both guanosine 5'-triphosphate (GTP) and 3-sn-phosphatidyl-L-serine (PS)-liposome, and does not inhibit dynamin self-assembly for oligomerization.
