Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The ability of KOSMOS to accurately measure left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) was investigated using EchoNous KOSMOS, a handheld echocardiography machine equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). ICC was good without clinically significant bias (0.81, p<0.001), and EF reductions of less than 50% were detected with 85% sensitivity and 81% specificity. However, KOSMOS tended to underestimate volume in larger left ventricles. This tendency was alleviated by a new version of the software that was tuned using more data including larger left ventricles.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
小型心エコー機は救急病棟を含むベッドサイドで使用可能である.しかし,循環器内科医や超音波技師が必要なだけ訪室して検査を行うことはできない.今回,artificial intelligence機能を搭載した小型心エコー機EchoNous社製KOSMOSを用いて正確な左室駆出率測定が可能であることがわかった.専門家が施行しなくても迅速に心機能評価をすることができ,患者の容態改善につながる.また,重症例において,循環器内科や心エコー図技師が検査室で大型機を用いて行う通常の心エコー図検査を無理をして施行する必要がなくなる.時間や労力の軽減につながり,働き方改革にも寄与すると考えられる.
