Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In higher education, fostering the ability to investigate information, discuss issues with others, form an original and reasonable opinion, and express opinions using information and communication technology (ICT) is important in an environment where people must manage large volumes of information. In this research project, we attempted to foster such abilities by developing a learning environment for academic writing using ICT and the peer-learning method. We addressed two research agendas: supporting problem finding and solving for each learner, taking into consideration cognition; and developing and evaluating a learning environment for academic writing, focusing on producing peer feedback. The findings suggest the possibility of improving the learning environment for academic writing. It is important to apply these findings to the learning environment more broadly.
