Outline of Final Research Achievements

The developing brain is extremely sensitive to irradiation. Irradiation during development has been implicated in various neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders. In this study, we were able to develop zebrafish-based behavior assay to detect subtle but significant developmental neurotoxicity of irradiation and to identify chemicals protective to the developmental neurotoxicity of irradiation.
