Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have established a scheme to control THz lights via graphene plasmon, a collective excitation of doped electrons in graphene. By placing the graphene sheet on a diffraction grating, a plasmonic band gap structure is formed, giving rise to a strong enhancement of the second-order optical nonlinearity in the THz region.
