| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to develop a nursing program to promote self-management using information and communication technology (ICT) for young adults with secondary lymphedema that occurs after cancer treatment.
An interview survey of 16 certified palliative care nurses revealed the current status and issues in nursing care for secondary lymphedema. A literature review on nursing care for lymphedema patients and young adults in Japan was conducted and a nursing program for patients and nurses was discussed. To improve the feasibility of the proposed program, the proposed program was modified by adding an interview survey of the general public of the younger generation.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
がん治療の進歩によりがんサバイバーのさらなる増加が予測されている。リンパ浮腫は長年にわたり発症リスクがあるが、専門的ケアが可能な施設は十分ではない。専門的ケアを受ける機会に乏しく、不安を抱えて生きる若年世代の続発性リンパ浮腫患者に対して、日ごろ使い慣れているスマートフォン等のICT（情報通信技術）を活用した看護プログラムを開発することは、教育的支援のみならず心理的支援の提供、生活スタイルに合わせた相談支援体制の構築、蜂窩織炎など重症化の予防を可能にする。これらの結果、続発性リンパ浮腫患者の安寧な社会生活の促進やQOLの向上、医療資源の効果的な活用に寄与し、社会的意義は大きいと考える。
