Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research focused on today's China where the social stratification and structural reconstruction are progressing actively. By taking the expanding middle class as the research object, this research used the method of media studies to analyze how Chinese middle class utilize social media as the medium and construct their social stratum consciousness through tourism consumption. As a result, this research clarified the reproduction of social class under the action of media, explored the new mechanism of social class’ formation, and successfully bridged social class studies, media studies and tourism research which have been regarded as different research fields.

学術的意義は観光という切り口で中産階級の形成を実態・イメージ・意識から動態的に考察し、階層形成のメカニズムを動態的に捉え直した点、及び階層研究、メディア研究、観光学、心理学、消費研究などの多岐にわたる学際的研究を試みた点にある。 社会的意義は中国中産階級の理解に資するばかりでなく、急激に変化する現代中国の社会構造や国民意識、メディア利用や消費行動を把握するための一つの明確な展望までも得られた点にある。
