| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、慢性神経障害性疼痛の患者に対してVR(virtual reality)を用いた治療を行い、疼痛を緩和することができるかどうかの有効性を評価する。評価に当たっては、疼痛の強さや日常生活への支障度等の主観的な指標の変化と共に、 fMRI(functional MRI)やNIRS(near-infrared spectroscopy)といった装置で測定した脳血流の変化も分析する。さらに、脳血流を分析することでVRが疼痛を緩和する作用機序を解明することも目指す。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
研究で得られた結果（VRプログラム鑑賞前後での疼痛の変化、NIRSから得られた前頭部脳血流）を分析。今回の研究ではVR治療による有意な疼痛緩和効果は得られなかったが、プログラム内容や施行方法などに関する問題点も明らかになった。将来的には疼痛緩和への効果が期待されるVR治療も開発可能と思われ、その展望も含めた論文を作成中である。

本年度中に研究結果の分析を完了して英語論文を作成し、ペインクリニックの専門誌に投稿する。今後の新たな研究施行についても、専門家との意見交換を行って検討していく。
