Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To build the experimental system to measure the amount of small electric charge which occurs with only contact and separation, a vacuum adsorption method and a sensitive Faraday cage have been developed. When triboelectrification between insulators was controlled as small as possible, the amount of contact electrification was less than the forecasting value, and several data could be smaller than this measurement sensitivity. It was considered that electric charge could transfer just by touching a thing to the other one in contact electrification, but this research shows that there is a possibility that the hypothesis is not correct in the insulators. To consider the driving force of electric charge movement by contact, a contact potential difference measuring apparatus has been made and a program for its automatic measurement has been developed.
