Outline of Final Research Achievements |
One baby in 50 has a parent from a different country, and such children often have difficulty with Japanese, careers, personal relations, and identities. The purpose of this research was to make an educational program to psychologically support children from multi-cultural backgrounds for clinical psychologists. In the 1st year, I interviewed clinical psychologists to research the issues and support those who do multicultural counseling, then in the 2nd year, Japanese language teachers and volunteers, and in the the 3rd year, the Japanese school and kindergartens overseas. I made and distributed leaflets based on a presentation at Intercultural Education Society of Japan and Society of Certified Clinical Psychology, and am preparing for the revised edition.
