Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To diagnose GI neuromuscular diseases, GI full-thickness tissue must be conventionally obtained by laparotomy or laparoscopy. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the safety and validity of a percutaneous transenteric full-thickness gastric biopsy assisted by an endoscope and a gastropexy device. There was no adverse event associated with this technique during the observation period. However, this technique could not obtain adequate tissue specimens for histopathological diagnosis of the enteric nervous system disorder or muscular disease. Further investigation should be conducted in the improvement of a biopsy needle or the selection of a biopsy needle cavity to collect a sufficient quantity of a specimen tissue.
