Research Abstract |
It was suggested by studying syntaxin1A (sy1A) or syntaxin1B (sy1B) gene knockout mice that sy1A and sy1B function in monoaminergic and mainly in glutamatergic fast transmission respectively. These findings overturned the usual thought that sy1a and sy1B played similar roles in synaptic function.
