Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to develop a first grade start program to help children from disadvantaged family environments adjust to elementary school. Researchers and elementary school teachers collaborated to clarify the image of the children they aim to nurture, and to create an annual study plan, a unit arrangement chart, and a study guidance plan. In addition, to facilitate children's adaptation to school through "learning through play," this study developed play-based physical activities and worksheets to promote language development, which were available on the website.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では、第3世代の小１スタートプログラムとして、学習指導案や教材等を開発するだけでなく、スタートカリキュラムの基本構造にも踏み込む形で研究開発を行った。本研究では、複合的な不利を抱えた子どもに焦点を当てたスタートカリキュラムについて、基本構造の理論的検討を行っており、そこで得られた知見は学術的意義の高いものだといえる。また、本研究で開発した年間学習計画表や単元配列表、学習指導案やさまざまな教材は、子どもたちの学校レディネスの不足を補償するためのスタートカリキュラムの実践に即座に活用・応用可能であり、高い社会的意義を有すると考えられる。
