Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research aims to improve technical education in Japan from the elementary school level onwards by developing and diffusing classroom practice models and programs of monozukuri related to technical education as part of arts and crafts classes at the elementary school level. The following teaching materials for monozukuri learning have been developed, examined, and verified their effectiveness: ① lessons with a focus on STEAM education, ② materials for learning about monozukuri related to wood education, ③ materials (introductory materials) to provide acquiring knowledge and skills in wood processing, ④ materials for upper elementary school students (electrically operated toys (tentative name)) and possible extended functions, ⑤ essential understanding on wood and points to consider when selecting materials (tree species, etc.).

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
2008年,2017年告示の小学校学習指導要領解説図画工作編,中学校学習指導要領及び同解説技術・家庭編において,小学校の図画工作科(以下,図工科)と中学校技術・家庭科技術分野(以下,技術科)との関連性が示されている。しかし,依然として図工科と技術科のスムーズな接続が進んでいない現状がある。技術教育を小学校段階から施している諸外国は多く見られるが,我が国の普通教育における技術教育は技術科のみで展開されている。そのため,本研究では図工科における技術科との接続を意識したものづくり学習の題材と授業実践モデルを開発を試み,効果の検証を進めた。
