Research Abstract |
Emotional stress activated prolactin releasing peptide (PrRP)-synthesizing neurons. The medial amygdala-medullary PrRP-synthesizing neuron pathway was suggested to have an important role for neuroendocrine responses to emotional stress. Food intake activates PrRP-synthesizing neurons and endogenous PrRP has anorexic action. Cholecystokinin-PrRP-oxytocin pathway was suggested to play an important role in the control of the termination of each meal.
