Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is not easy to put our physical knowledge about human movement into words or convert it into data and communicate to others with it. However we are faced with the necessity to do in various scenes of life, for example, in the classes of physical education at school, or in some occupations requiring the high level skills inherited from their predecessors. In this research, I will take up two representative ways of describing our dynamic sense of movement, namely the quality of our movements:"The Languages of Craft (Waza-Gengo)" proposed by Kumiko Ikuta, and Rudolf Laban's "effort." And through our learning experiment of contemporary dance, I discuss how they make influence on our body movements, especially on its qualitative aspects. Thus the research leads the more effective communications of our physical knowledge with words.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
