Research Abstract |
The small GTPase Rab27a is expressed in pancreatic β cells and regulates insulin secretion. In this study, I found that Rab27a showed the strongest binding affinity for Granuphilin. Granuphilin is strongly expressed in pancreatic β cells and suppresses insulin secretion. Then I identified the novel Granuphilin complex. This complex inhibits function of Granuphilin and increases insulin secretion.
