研究成果の概要

当初企図した方法では研究成果が必ずしも予想どおりに挙がったわけではないが、シリア語については、研究を進める中で関連する別の問題に行き当たり、これについて、研究代表者が以前に得ていた研究成果と突き合わせて検討を行なうことによって、新たな成果への道が開けつつあると言うことができる。
他方コプト語については、これまた関連する別の問題に行き当たったが、こちらはコプト学自体の中で既に100年以上にわたって論争が続いている学問上の難問であり、これについては、解明のための手がかりはいくつか得ることができたものの、研究上の最終的な突破口を見いだすまでには未だ至っていない。
