Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study was started in an attempt to provide a methodology for establishing the authoritative text of Twusi Eanhay -- representative Middle Korean Hankul Materials of the 1480's -- and its textual criticism. Firstly, we developed a revised text in the range of the First Edition by proofreading among extant texts. Secondly, based on this, we conducted research on some phonological characteristics such as accent, intonation, or vowel harmony, and stylistic characteristics. In addition, it was revealed that there are several linguistic characteristics coexisting in some contemporary materials with Twusi Enhay, and this emerged as a new perspective on for understanding the linguistic characteristics of the First Edition of Twusi-Enhay.
